I just found a really useful tutorial (with pictures!) for making wool roving into snazzy dreadlocks. She suggested dyeing them afterwards but you can do this with already dyed wool for ease and also for cool swirly and candy cane effects. So here is the tutorial. I found it on this forum. (Heather: 1, Internets: 0)

It would not take much to convince me and very little more to get me to do it. I will talk to my mom because she has some felting supplies and I'll get back to you with more info. 'Cause yeah, I'd love to.
